Tehran, Iran, April 3
By Mehdi Sepahvand – Trend:
There are 1.5 times more missile sites in Iran than five years ago, says Commander of the country’s Khatam ul-Anbiya Air Defense Base Farzad Esmaili.
The commander added that in the meantime, the number of radar stations in the country has doubled, Tasnim news agency reported April 3.
“Highly advanced, domestically-made radars with ranges of over 1,000 kilometers have been added to the cross-country radar system and now we can inspect our enemies at their homes,” the commander said.
He further said that signals intelligence and intelligence and electronic identification equipment have also increased two times in the mentioned period.
Iran is following a robust defense boost program that ranges from radar systems to ballistic missiles and watercraft.
Tehran maintains its military power is solely defensive and poses no threat to neighbors.
