Roghaye Alizade’s Hearing Held in the Revolutionary Court of Ardabil

HRANA News Agency – Abbas Lisani’s family, his wife and two sons were present at the general revolutionary court of Ardabil following repeated summons. The Turksish activist (Azeri) of Ardabil is currently being held in prison in Shiraz.

According to previous summons Abbas Lisani’s wife, Roghaye Alizadeh and his sons, Ali and Mehdi Lesani were present at second branch of general revolutionary courts of Ardabil on February 23.

Roqiyeh Alizadeh was summoned as the inmate and Mehdi and Ali Lesani as the witnesses of the case.

The family said the prosecutor had asked irrelevant questions, and they had refused to sign the papers of the court.

Ms. Alizadeh had been summoned to the court on February 15 through a telephone call, but said she would not go without a written summons. She suggested that her summon could be due to a complaint by the Intelligence Office of the city of Ardabil for her interview and information about her husband’s situation.

Abbas Lesani, imprisoned civil rights activist was transferred without notice from Ardabil prison to the prison of Shiraz on Thursday, November 12, 2015 and since his arrival to this prison has been denied of family visits.

Abbas Lesani who had not attended in any of the three hearing sessions due to non-compliance with Article 168 of the constitution on the formation of public hearings, on May 25, 2015 was sentenced to one year in prison through a verdict of the first Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Ardebil presided by Judge Asadpur.

The Turkish (Azeri) Civil rights activist and father of three who had been arrested and imprisoned numerous times, the last time was arrested in Ardebil on September 9, 2011, during a protest against the drying of Lake of Urmia, on charges of propaganda against the state and formation of groups to disturb the national security. He was released on the bail of 100 million tomans on November 5, 2011 from detention center of Ardabil Intelligence Service Department after 55 days.
