Saturday 20 February 2016A Report On The Situation Of Farhad Pirooti In Mahabad Prison
HRANA News Agency – Farhad Pirooti, political prisoner and resident of Sardasht, is serving the 4th month of his 5-year-sentence. He has been charged with acts against the national security and cooperation with conflicting parties. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Farhad Prirooti, electronic engineering student of Payam Noor University of Sardasht, was arrested on January 15, 2012, by the intelligent service of Sardasht, in a printing shop where he used to work. He was transferred to central prison of Sardasht after few days of interrogations, and was released on 150 million Tomans bail, in the February of the same year. The Revolutionary court of Sardasht by judge Norouzi, sentenced him to 8 years and 6 months in prison. This sentence was reduced to 5 years, in branch number 10 of Sardasht appeal court. Being in contact with enemies of the revolution in social media and propaganda in favor of them, possessing anti-revolution pictures and articles, propaganda against the regime by advocacy of conflicting parties and distribution and sharing their articles in cyber space, are some parts of the activities which this sentence is based on them. Also, the lap-top of the defendant is seized and the court ordered for destruction of 14 of his CDs as well. He was arrested and transferred to Mahabad Prison last October to serve his sentence. |
