HRANA News Agency – Arash Moghadam Aslanpour, political prisoner, by applying article 134 of Islamic penal act and partial reduction of the sentence, has been released form Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Arash Moghadam Aslanpour was released on January 27th. On August 11, 2013, Mr. Moghadam was arrested by the ministry of intelligence agents, and transferred to Evin prison. After approximately one month of interrogations at the solitary confinements of ward 209, he was transferred to ward 350 of Evin Prison. Later in December 2013, Mr. Moghadam was tried in branch number 15 of the revolutionary court, with chief judge Salavati. The verdict was communicated to him on February 2014, and under charges of blasphemy, insulting the leadership and propaganda against the regime, he was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment. In June 2014, this sentence was approved by branch number 54 of the appeal court with chief judge Movahed. It has been mentioned that Mr. Moghadam’s charges stem from his activities in social-media such as Facebook. In September 2014, Arash Moghadam Aslanpour was exiled from Evin Prison to Rajai Shahr Prison, ever since the incident known as the “black Thursday”. A new case was opened for him in connection with the crack down on ward 350 of Evin Prison, and once again he was tried in branch number 15 of the revolutionary court with the chief judge Salavati and received one year imprisonment in this case. The new sentence was communicated to him on December 29, 2014 and was confirmed by branch number 36 of the appeal court. Mr. Moghadam was pardoned for one part of his sentence in 2014 on the occasion of Eid-Al-Fitr and finally on 27th January with accumulation of the crime was released from ward 10 of Rajai Shahr Prison. |
