2 Prisoners Died Due to Influenza in Urmia Prison

HRANA News Agency – The prisoners in Urmia prison said that prison medical facilities are negligible to cope with the disease with regard to overcrowding in prisons and the impossibility of separating people, there is also no possibility of effective prevention.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Urmia prison authorities have confirmed these two inmates’ deaths due to influenza infection.

Reports also indicate the spread of the flu virus in Zahedan prison and the deaths of several prisoners.

An outbreak of swine flu caused the death of a large number of Iranians over the past month, the Ministry of Health officials said that they were controlling the disease and there was no need to worry.
