Rouhani's assuring letter to Khamenei was "appropriate step"

By Temkin Jafarov – Trend:

An Iranian lawmaker said President Hassan Rouhani's letter to Supreme Leader was an appropriate step, showing the existence of cooperation, consultation and assistance among Iranian authorities to resolve nuclear dispute with P5+1.

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani released a letter assuring the Islamic Republic’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei that the nuclear deal with P5+1 1 (the US, UK, France, Germany, Russia and China) will be implemented on the basis of Khamenei’s orders, Fars News Agency reported Oct. 22.

Iranian lawmaker Moayyed Hosseini Sadr told Trend that both the supreme leader and president issuing open letters is a good approach. "Ayatollah Khamenei's letter and his offered conditions don't imply putting any restriction and obstacles in the way of implementation of the nuclear deal. The deal would be implemented in the framework of what Parliament has approved and based on national interests".

Rouhani’s came a day after Khamenei ordered the government to implement the nuclear deal under his conditions. In his letter which was published on the official website of the leader Oct. 21 Khamenei announced he confirms the Supreme National Security Council’s decision on implementing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), achieved on July 14, under certain conditions which are listed in the letter.

Rouhani said the super powers have understood that pressure and threats don't work in Iran's nuclear issue and the admitted to negotiate with Iran based on mutual respect and recognizing Iran's nuclear rights.

Rouhani listed briefly the achievements of Iran by sealing nuclear deal with the P5+1:

- Foiling Israel's attempts to spread Iranophobia and securitization of Iran's nuclear activities.

- Securing Iran's right to obtain its peaceful nuclear program, including reorganization of uranium enrichment right for Iran by the United Nations and super powers.

- Excluding Iran's nuclear program case from the Chapter VII of the U.N. Charter.

- Elimination of international trade, financial and banking sanctions on Iran.

He added that Iranian government would implement the nuclear deal completely to secure national interests and economic development in all spheres.
