Mohammad Amin Abdullahi On Hunger Strike In Birjand Prison

HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Amin Abdullahi, political prisoner in Birjand prison, who is in his tenth year of imprisonment has gone on hunger strike to protest against being transferred to this prison since 15 days ago and it is said that he was 7 days on dry hunger strike.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mohammad Amin Abdullahi, political prisoner in Birjand prison, who is in his tenth year of imprisonment, has gone on hunger strike since 15 days ago including 7 days of dry hunger strike to protest against being transferred to Birjand prison and demanding to be returned to Tabas prison or any prison in Kurdistan province.

This political prisoner, earlier this year in August, had gone on hunger strike to protest the denial of granting him parole.

At that time, the conditional release for this citizen of Bookan had been refused, while he had spent more than half of his imprisonment sentence and he is legally eligible for parole.

He was practically deprived of the family visits during his detention period in this prison because of being exiled to Tabas and then to Birjand and the far distance from home.

Mohammad Amin Abdullahi from Boukan, was arrested in fall 2005 and after 15 months of uncertainty was tried in Mahabad Revolutionary Court on charges of combat through effective collaboration with Kurdish parties and also propaganda against the regime and was sentenced to a total of 18 years imprisonment and exile to Tabas. After being held in the prisons of Ormia and Mahabad for a while, then he was exiled to Tabas prison and then to prison of Birjand and he is currently serving his tenth year of imprisonment in that prison.
