HRANA News Agency – Majid Mohammad Moein, imprisoned journalist, started his hunger strike in protest to uncertain status which has been created for his family following the issuance of the sentence. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Majid Mohammad Moein, journalist and prisoner of ward number 8 of Evin prison, started his hunger strike in protest to lack of evidence for his new sentence and his family’s uncertain condition by dictated sentence from security authorities. He is demanding a fair trial, commitment to the law and receiving furlough until the time that the status of his case will become clear. Majid Mohammad Moein is imprisoned since January 2011 and is serving his 4-year-in prison sentence in Evin prison. He received another one-year-in prison sentence in a new case last July. Majid Mohammad Moein who was in prison at the time, has been charged with propaganda against the regime in 2014, and received one year in prison sentence. This sentence was confirmed in branch number 36 of the appeal court of province and was submitted to the prison in August. This will increase the time that this prisoner has to serve. Majid Mohammad Moein was the reporter of Bilan, Salam and the director of the Economic Committee of the Athletic Association of Young Writers. He is charged with collusion and acts against the national security and has been sentenced to four years in prison and is being kept in prison since 2011. |
