Atena Daemi Sent To A Hospital For MRI Scan

HRANA News Agency – The result of medical test of Atena Daemi, civil activist who is imprisoned in Evin prison, states that she is not suffering from MS disease and her health problems are caused by stress and psychological pressures. Ms. Daemi is still in an indeterminate state as her trial date has not been allocated yet.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the medical tests and MRI scan’s result revealed that she was not suffering from MS disease and her physical problems in prison are caused by stress and tension.

An informed source in this regard told HRANA’s reporter; “An appointment is going to be made at Farabi hospital in Tehran to check the reason of this civil activist’s double vision.”

It should also be noted that the appellate court has not yet been allocated to this imprisoned civil activist and she is in an indeterminate state.

It is to say that, after publicizing images of her previous transfer to the hospital by the media, the treatment of this civil activists was stopped and the security authorities warned her and her family that “you are on the Red Line and we’re not going to give you permission and the letter for your transfer to outside of the prison.”

It should be mentioned that, before this event, Atena Daemi had requested several times for being sent to the hospital but every time the security authorities reminded the published photos of this civil activist with handcuffs when she had been transferred to the hospital, and had refused to transfer her and mentioned that she is on “Red Line”.

Atena Daemi, 27, was arrested on 21st October 2014 and was held for 57 days in the solitary confinement under investigation. She was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment because of her peaceful civil activities, propaganda against the regime, gathering and collusion against national security, insulting the leader, insulting the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran and concealing evidences of the crime. The decision has been sent to Branch 36 of the Appeals Court to appeal but by the time of this report still no decision has been announced.
