HRANA News Agency – Saeid Shirzad was summoned to the court without prior notice. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Saeid Shirzad, imprisoned civil rights activist in Rajaei Shahr prison, was summoned to branch number 15 of the revolutionary court of Tehran. Amirsalar Davoodi, his lawyer with confirming this news has written “despite complaining against these types of trials” he will attend. Based on the received information by HRANA, Saeid Shirzad has been called by public speaker at 8:05 am in order to be sent to court session at 10 am, without any prior notice. Need to be mentioned, usually one day before the transfer date, at 11 pm prisoners get informed about the transfer, and the day after prisoner is called the latest at 7 am for being escorted to the court. This civil rights activist, who is spending his 15th months under detention, was sent once to the court in May. He left the court session then to show his protest to not having prior notice, absence of his lawyer due to not being informed and prevention from studying the case by the lawyer. This activist has previously left the court session two times for showing protest against this issue and also being transferred with handcuffs. Saeid Shirzad was arrested at his workplace, Tabriz refinery on June 2, 2014, and was transferred to Evin prison, and after that, due to his protests he was exiled to Rajaei Shahr prison without any trial. This children’s rights activist, a part of whose charges is helping the children of political prisoner on their studies, was arrested for the first time on August 21, 2012, when he went to Ahar for helping people after the earthquake of East Azerbaijan. He was released on the bail after 19 days. |
