Atena Daemi Will Be Transferred To The Hospital On Monday

HRANA News Agency – Atena Daemi, imprisoned civil rights activist in Evin prison, will be transferred to the hospital on Monday.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), this transfer was postponed from Monday 14th to Monday 21st September, due to administrative problem.

An informed source, regarding this issue, told HRANA’s reporter that: “The permission letter for sending this imprisoned civil activist has been issued but because of the delay in issuance by the persecutor and taking the letter to Evin prison to transfer Atena Daemi, it was postponed to next week.”

According to the letter that her family received, only on Mondays it is possible to send Atena Daemi to a hospital.

After publicizing images of her previous transfer to the hospital, by the media, the treatment of this civil activists was stopped and the security authorities warned her and her family that “you are on the Red Line and we’re not going to give you the permission letter for your transfer to the hospital outside the prison.”

It should be mentioned that, before this event, Atena Daemi had requested several times for being sent to the hospital but every time the security authorities reminded the published photos of this civil activist with handcuffs when she had been transferred to the hospital, and had refused to transfer her and mentioned that she is on the “Red Line”.

Atena Daemi, 27, was arrested on 21st October 2014 and was held for 57 days in the solitary confinement under investigation. She was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment because of her peaceful civil activities, on charges of propaganda against the regime, gathering and collusion against national security, insulting the leader, insulting the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran and concealing the evidence of the crime. The decision has been sent to the Branch 36 of the Appeals Court but by the time of this report still no decision has been announced.
