HRANA News Agency – Political prisoner, Sedigheh Moradi is suffering from meniscus tear and tendon in her feet and is held in the women's ward of Evin prison, and considering her problems and diseases, she needs to be sent to the hospital. According to the report of the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), political prisoner, Sedigheh Moradi, who has been imprisoned since 4 years ago, most recently has encountered with meniscus tear and foot tendon problems in women's ward in Evin prison, with regard to the ban of using the stairs for her and as that is impossible during the normal life in this ward, so this prisoner should be sent to the hospital for treatment, physiotherapy or surgery. Her husband in a conversation with HRANA's reporter, in addition to this new problem also said: "For sending her to the hospital, a letter must be taken, it should be coordinated with a hospital and they must issue a letter and give that to the prison, then they will take my wife to the hospital. But I still have not received the letter to take to the hospital." Mr. Khavas Seffat, also regarding her recent health problems in the women's ward, said: "According to the result of MRI scan, her knee meniscus and foot tendon have been damaged and cut, and one of the things that she should follow, considering her condition, is not using stairs." Mr. Khavas Seffat by mentioning that in women's ward in Evin prison one needs to use stairs for their daily chores or going to the yard, said: "Due to my wife's knee problem, and the problem that I just mentioned, she should be sent for physiotherapy. The reason is that according to the ward's condition, it is almost impossible not to use the stairs." Sedigheh Moradi's husband by mentioning "Surgery" as another way to solve this problem, said that in addition, "my wife has sciatica problem", too. Khavas Seffat said that "So far her friends have helped her with her problems in the prison." Sedigheh Moradi has been deprived of going on leave in the last 4 years and is suffering from the illnesses that occurred during her imprisonment. Sadigheh Moradi, political prisoner in the women's ward of Evin prison, was arrested on 1st May 2011 and was transferred to ward 209 of Evin Prison. She was charged with combat and having connection with opposed groups by Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran, headed by Judge Mohammad Moghisehei, and was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and exile in Rajai Shahr prison. The sentence was confirmed by the appeals court identically. This prisoner, who had been arrested twice in the 1980s, was kept in ward 209 for 7 months after her arrest, and in December 2011 she was transferred to the general ward." |
