HRANA News Agency – Esmail Abdi, Secretary General of Teacher’s Union in Tehran, has been transferred to ward 8 of Evin prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Esmail Abdi, Secretary General of Teacher’s Union in Tehran, after more than 50 day of detention, was transferred to ward 8 of Evin prison in Tehran.
It should be noted that according to the reports being received, his case has been referred to Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, supervised by judge Salvati.
Esmail Abdi, a high school mathematics teacher in Islam Shahr, and chess master and coach of Tehran province, presented himself at Evin prison on 27th June, while a group of about 80 Union and Culture activist convoyed him, and is held in detention since then.
Earlier he was banned from leaving the country when he wanted to travel to Armenia.
Esmail Abdi has been sentenced to ten years imprisonment. In May, coinciding with the protests of teachers across the country, he was summoned and his prison sentence was subjected to his resignation, this resignation was not accepted by the Board of Teachers’ Union.
