The execution is scheduled to take place in the same week as the High Representative of the European Union (EU) Federica Mogherini and the French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius visit Iran. We call on the international community, especially the EU, to use all their channels to stop Salar’s execution,” says Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of IHR.

According to Amnesty International, Salar Shadizadi was arrested by Iranian authorities on February 2007 and charged with a murder h allegedly committed when he was 15 years old. In the same year of his arrest, Salar was sentenced to Qesas (retribution in kind) death. The sentence was later confirmed by the Supreme Court.
