Ali Moezzi Transferred to Solitary Confinement

HRANA News Agency – Following the new one-year-imprisonment sentence for Ali Moezzi, this political prisoner has been transferred to solitary confinement since last Thursday.

According to the reports of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ali Moezzi, political prisoner, has been transferred to solitary confinement from last Thursday, after the revolutionary court of Karaj plead him guilty for the charge of propaganda against the regime and convicted him to a year in prison.

An informed source told HRANA’s reporter, “Ali Moezzi should have been released soon but suddenly he was transferred to court and then sentence on charge of propaganda against the regime, without any prior notice. His transfer was with beating and insulting by security forces and he did not talk during the court session. His lawyer had not had the permission to review his case”.

This source added, “Ali Moezi has been transferred to solitary confinement and incommunicado and it is probable that he would be transferred to other prisons”.

Ali Moezi was a prisoner in 80s as well. He was arrested in Autumn 2008 and sentenced to 2 certain and 3 conditional years in prison. After serving his two years in prison sentence, again he was arrested on Jun 12, 2010, for attending in a ceremony, which was held in commemoration of Ali Saremi, the political prisoner who was executed.

He was tried in absentia in branch 15 of the revolutionary court, on charge of advocacy of MEK and sentenced to one year in prison. Considering the previous conditional 3 years in prison, he had to spent 4 years in prison.
