HRANA News Agnecy – During the last week, outbreak of Influenza at Uromiyeh Central Prison has sent many inmates to the Prison’s clinic. Erroneous medical treatment and wrong medication given to them by the clinic staffs have also added to their problems. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), during the last week several prisoners have been transferred to the prison’s clinic due to an Outbreak of Influenza at Uromiyeh Central Prison (Darya). An inmate at this prison told HRANA reporter: “on Saturday, authorities started to inject prisoners and since then 8 inmates lost the movement of their hands and legs.” This source referred to 3 of these paralyzed prisoners as “Peyman Jahangirzadeh”, “Ali Bakhshi” and “Mojtaba Kahrizaki” and mentioned these are normal prisoners and are kept and the General Wards. This source continued: “during the last couple of days nobody attended to these affected prisoners and finally they have been transferred to the prison’s clinic after they lost the movement in their arms and legs.” It is not clear that if these damages are the result of injecting the prisoners with the wrong or expired drugs. In addition, it is not clear that if these damages to the prisoners – described as paralysis by witnesses- are temporary or permanent. |
