NEW YORK - Hundreds have gathered in New York City to protest Iran President Hassan Rouhani during his remarks before the UN General Assembly on Thuesday.
Former US diplomats John Bolton and Bill Richardson were expected to address the protesters. Former US Sen. Tom Daschle and Robert F. Kennedy's daughter Kerry Kennedy were also expected to speak.
Security was tight in the plaza outside the UN complex as chanting protesters gathered in the rain.
Organizers said they hope to spotlight what they call the Rouhani regime's poor record on human rights, its sponsorship of terrorism and its deception in nuclear negotiations.
