Thursday 21 August 2014Arrested Azeri activists on hunger strike in Meshkin Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – National-Civic Azerbaijani activists, who had been arrested in Sabalan’s hillside and were transferred to Central prison in Meshkin Shahr, went on hunger strike. Also a number of activists, who had managed to get themselves into mountain shelter in Sabalan peak, were arrested by security and intelligence forces. Detainees named Rahim Gholami, Aydin Zakeri, Maysam Jolani, Jafar Rostami, Saeed Hosseini, Hamid Ghovati, Hamid Negahban, Eisa Azizi, Hassan Jolani and Reza Ghomi on 17th August went on hunger strike to protest against their illegal arrest and detention, as well as illegally issuing a bail of 10 million Toman for their temporary release. In this regard, an informed source told a HRANA reporter “Court of Meshkin Shahr has told them that their charge is spreading propaganda against the Regime. |
