Dorr TV - Lecture on Iran during the opening of an exhibition hosted by Amnesty International Lecture given by Helmut N. Gabel on Friday, 14th of February at the opening of Amnesty Internationals exhibition "Irans heart beats - Human Right defenders in Iran" in Wolfenbüttel, city of the renown philosopher Wilhelm Georg Leibniz, author of "Nathan the wise". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_Eb4dIC1RM&feature=youtu.be Irene Albrecht, head of AI section in Wolfenbüttel, Germany introduced into the exhibition and stressed the importance of human rights work concerning Iran. The audience acknowledged the exhibition and finally the lecture on Iran's people, culture and ideology started. Mr Gabel introduced into Iran's history of a long fight for self-determination. He mentioned the continuous attempts of fundamentalist religious forces to raise a religious government and how secular forces tried to prevent this and went for more democracy and self-determination in Iran. He touched on the constitutional revolution and Fazlollah Nouri in the wake of the 20th century, he referred to Ayatollah Kashani and his contribution to bring to fall Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh during the 50ies and how one of Kashani's students, Khomeini finally achieved the goal to form a religious government in the name of Islam in 1979. Khomeini finally established a new governmental system called Velayat-e faghi with the help of diverse fundamentalist groups, elimination of moderate and highly esteemed experts on Islam and finally extinction of political rivalling groups. |
