HRANA News Agency – Ali Moezzi, the aged political prisoner of central penitentiary of Karaj, is severely suffering from kidney and bladder issues, but deprived of medical facilities. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ali Moezzi, the old political prisoner who was in prison in 1980s, too is still deprived of proper medical treatment, despite the stipulation of physicians for hospitalization in a well-equipped hospital outside the prison. An informed source told to HRANA`s reporter: “Ali Moezzi is suffering from Hydronephrosis, because of which urine does not go down from the kidneys.” He added: “When Ali Moezzi had gone to prison’s clinic for treatments, the urologist has stipulated some tests and hospitalization in a well-equipped hospital outside the prison. So far he has been neither tested nor sent to hospital.” In response to a question of, has he requested for medical furlough, he said: “he has submitted his request to prison authorities, and forensics has confirmed that he needs to be sent to furlough. But we do not know yet whether the prison’s judge has approved the request or not.” Ali Moezzi, who has arrest and prison experience in 1980’s in his record, had been sentenced to two certain years, and three conditional years in prison, in autumn 2008. After passing two years in Rajaei Shahr prison, he was released in 2010 but was again arrested in June 2011, on charge of attending the funeral ceremony of Ali Saremi, the executed political prisoner.” Then the branch number 15 of revolutionary court, in his absentia, sentenced him to one year in prison, which implies for four accumulated years in prison. |
