Saeed Abedini transferred to high risk criminal prisoners’ ward

HRANA News Agency – Saeed Abedini the Iranian-American pastor is transferred to ward 3, hall 9 of Rajaie Shahr prison.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Saeed Abedini the Iranian-American pastor who was transferred from ward 350 to Rajaie Shahr prison on November 3, is currently in ward 3, hall 9 of Rajaie Shahr which is the place to keep the criminal prisoners such as murderers.

Pastor Abedin met Ayatollah Iravani the professor of Washington DC university before being transferred. He spoke out with Iravani about his condition when he was under arrest in ward 209 and 350 and criticised strongly the way the authorities treated him.

One of his relatives told HRANA reporter “On October 31, Saeed met Ayatollah Iravani with presence of Moemeni the vice-warden of Evin prison and Ghobadi the head of prison intelligence. He objected strongly the behaviors of Evin authorities, prisons department, the prosecutor and intelligence ministry. Most of his objection was related to the time he was under arrest being deprived of legal rights and facing tough and brutal condition in ward 209 with no access to phone, no furlough and negligence of the political prisoners by the authorities.”

“Later on, in a deceptive way they called him to the enforcement section of Evin prison and then transferred him to Rajaie Shahr quarantine ward on November 3 without having enough cloth and basic personal stuff, then his final destination was the high risk criminal prisoners ward. His transfer to this dangerous ward which had four death reports last week due to suicide and fight, threatens the mental and physical situation of Saeed.”

Abedini was tried in branch 26 of revolutionary court in January 2013 and sentenced to eight years imprisonment on charge of establishing home-church with intention to disturb the national security. He appealed the verdict and the dossier was sent to branch 36 of Tehran provincial appealed court to revise which they confirmed the verdict issued by the revolutionary court.
