HRANA News Agency – Reza Shahabi who is suffering from back and neck ache and blood pressure is not allowed to go to medical furlough by the authorities.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Reza Shahabi, the member of syndicate of workers of Tehran and suburbs bus drivers’ board who is is ward 350 of Evin prison is suffering from back and neck pain and high blood pressure.
The clinic of Evin prison only gives him pain killers and he is not allowed to be examined by a specialist.
The family of this labor activist has asked the authorities to allow him to be examined in the clinics out of prison but this has been rejected each time. The authorities have told his family: “he was recently in furlough so he must stay in prison for a while and then we can allow him.”
Reza Shahabi has been sentenced to 4 years of prison, 5 years of prohibition from any activities in syndicate and 70 million Rials surcharge by the appeal court of Tehran.
