Prisoner Threaten for Sending Letter to Ahmad Shahid

HRANA News Agency – Abbas Badfar , political prisoner in Rajai Shahr Prison was summoned to prison’s intelligence office, after sending a letter to Ahmad Shahid and was threaten by chief officer there.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), after sending a letter to Ahmad Shahid, UN Special Rapporteur on Iran, Abbas Badfar was summoned to prison’s intelligence office Monday, December 24, 2012. He was threaten by chief officer “Faraj Nejad” that he will be transferred to solitary confinement, exile to a far away city and his charge of “Moharebeh” (Enmity against God) will be in process again.

Abbas Badfar is a defected member of Iranian opposition MKO (Mojahedin-e-Khalq Organization = People's Mujahedin of Iran) who was delivered to Iran by Iraqi National Security Forces on Sunday, April 26, 2009. In spite of being under protection of UNHCR, Iraqi forces violated the protection law and delivered him.

He was transferred to Tehran’s Evin Priosn, where he was interrogated for several months inside Intelligence Ministry's Ward 209.
He was under pressure to accept a TV interview against MKO, but he refused and put on trial on Moharebeh charges. On 30 May 2010, Abbas Badfar was sentenced to 10 years in prison to be served in exile at Rajaee Shahr Prison, where he is currently serving. Badfar was kept in solitary confinement over a long period of time, before being moved to ward 4 of Rajaee Shahr Prison in Karaj in September 2010.
