GVF — Parastoo Dokouhaki, a blogger, human rights activist and journalist, has been detained by Iranian authorities, according to reports.
RFE/RL's Radio Farda reported on Tuesday that her arrest took place over the weekend. Security forces also confiscated a number of her personal belongings.
She was reportedly arrested on national security charges. In March 2007, Dokouhaki and 32 other women’s rights activists were arrested while attending protests against the trial of fellow activist Sousan Tahmasbi.
Despite her earlier involvement with numerous reformist publications, Dokouhaki’s family say the female journalist has not been engaged in any political activity in recent years.
