ABU DHABI—Gulf oil ministers met Sunday but avoided discussing options to reroute oil as a precautionary measure against any blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
Senior Gulf oil officials had said this weekend that the ministers might discuss rerouting oil after Iran started war games Saturday around the vital oil route, and after Western consuming nations Tuesday sought more Gulf oil in case Tehran comes under an international embargo. The strait, located between Iran and Oman, handles about 33% of all ocean-borne traded.
