Former secretary of the Muslim Student Association of Sharif University Tara Sepehrifar has been sentenced to 7 years in prison and 74 lashes. The verdict has been issued in absentia and her lawyer has been unaware of the trial. According to the Human Rights House of Iran, she was sentenced to 5 years in prison for conspiracy and gathering against national security, one year for anti-regime activities and one year of imprisonment and 74 lashes for disturbing public order. She was detained twice after the disputed elections. The Prosecutor’s Office has seized her bail.
