University Student Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison

Student activist Mohsen Barzegar has been sentenced to 2 years in prison. Mohsen Barzegar has been sentenced to 2 years in prison for acting against national security and insulting the Supreme Leader. He has been convicted of acting against national security for participating in the February 14th protests while the protests took place after his arrest and he was unaware that such event was taking place. There has been no evidence for the conviction of insulting the Supreme Leader. His trial has taken place in absentia and without his knowledge. His 2 year sentence has been upheld by the appeals court. As a member of Karroubi’s Campaign, he had been summoned and detained several times.
