Tehran, Iran, Jun. 23 - Iran’s caretaker oil minister Mohammad Aliabadi said Tehran would block any attempt to affect the current market oil prices.
His statement came on the back of a recent spat between Iran and Saudi Arabia on the production output of crude oil.
The state-run news agency Fars reported that Aliabadi on Wednesday stated: "Iran will stop any move designed to play with oil prices through production hike".
Iran, which currently holds the presidency of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), has stated repeatedly it wishes to keep production to the current levels and thus maintaining a high price for its product.
