Sunday 12 June 2011A Runaway Girl Killed by Her Brother in Southern Iran
HRANA News Agency – On May 29, 2011, the detectives at Bandar-Abbas Police Department in Hormozgan Province were dispatched to a young woman’s house where they found her lifeless body. Upon arriving at the house, the criminal team determined that blunt force trauma to head killed Nazanin. Further investigation revealed that persons unknown entered her house easily and murdered her in her sleep. Additionally, since there was no evidence of robbery, it was determined that in all likelihood, revenge was the motive for this crime. During ensuing investigations, one of Nazanin’s brothers told the police, “My family and I live in the city of Kahnouj. A few days ago, my sister, Nazanin, contacted us and said that an anonymous caller had threatened to kill her.” Subsequently, since police officers were suspicious of her brother’s statement, they detained him for further questioning during which he identified his other brother as the killer. Immediately, a team of detectives were dispatched to Kahnouj to carry out a surprise attack against the accused. Upon arrest, the suspect, Amir, confessed to the crime and told the investigators, “My sister’s lifestyle and behavior dishonored our family. For this reason, I decided to kill her. On Sunday, May 29, 2011, I went to her house at around 11:00am, but she was still sleep. Then, I hit her with a picnic gas canister repeatedly until she died. Of course, she was a runaway and must have been killed.” After his confession, the accused was charged with murder and sent to prison. |
