Thursday 05 May 2011Scenario to Eliminate Ahmadinejad’s Right Hand Begins
The website Alef published a report yesterday according to which Esfandiar Rahim-Mashaei and Hamid Baghaei are shareholders of a company named SAMGA, allegedly been established with an initial capital of 20 billion tomans (about 20 million U.S. dollars) and is run by Mehdi Jahangiri, Rahim-Mashaei’s former deputy at the Cultural Heritage Organization. The website also reported that, in addition to Mashaei and Baghaei, Tehran’s governor Morteza Tamaddon is also a shareholder of the company. According to Alef, the company received special favors from the government, including free title to a one-million square meter property in the Lavizan district in Tehran, authorized by a cabinet resolution, as well a 31-thousand square meter property near the Imam Khomeini international airport in Tehran, with surveying fees exceeding 3 billion tomans (about 3 million U.S. dollars) The website Alef, which is close to lawmaker Ahmad Tavakoli, also claimed that, since its incorporation, SAMGA has created a conglomerate of more than six large business entities. One of those entities, the Tourism Bank, currently has a capital of 600 million tomans (about 600 million U.S. dollars). The website noted that it has published its report after consulting with lawyers, and announced its readiness to defend its claims in court. But this was not the only accusation against Rahim-Mashaei to surface yesterday. In addition to the Alef website’s report, the Fars news agency quoted the spokesperson for the Article 90 Committee in the parliament (in charge of investigating government abuses) as saying that Ahmadinejad has ordered his office to investigate its relations with a woman referred to as a “rentier” by Fars. It appears that this woman has received permits to establish tourism facilities across the country by threatening local authorities that they would be reprimanded by the president’s office if they do not cooperate with her. Previously, in a letter to Rahim-Mashaei, Reza Golpour had accused him of illegitimate relations and moral deprivation. Source: Rooz Online |
