"Prison cells are so cold that it feels like ice"

Human Rights House of IRAN, After visiting her daughter in prison, Azam Afsharian, Nazanin Khosravani’s mother, stated that “she was in good mental condition but was complaining about the cold weather in Ward 209.”

Even though the temperatures have gone down, the authorities have failed to give warm clothes to Khosravani.

There is no bed in the Intelligence Ministry- run Ward 209 and the prisoners have to sleep on the cold floor. Warm clothes or blankets are not given to the prisoners of this ward.

Her mother added that Nazanin was surprised that a court date had been set for her without the knowledge of her family or lawyer.

She had been taken to the court on Wednesday and had seen her lawyer by chance. The attorney had talked to the judge in order to postpone the hearing.

According to her mother, the trial date has not been set yet but her lawyer, Ms. Gheyrat, has stated that it will be held very soon.

She was detained on December 3rd and transferred to Evin Prison.
