MEMRI Blog, In a Friday afternoon address at Teheran University, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati accused seditionists of attempting to foment unrest in Iran following the disputed 2009 elections. They failed, he said, because they misunderstood the will of the Iranian people, and that it was the people rather than the government who rose up to oppose the protests.
Ayatollah Jannati also discussed the recent cuts in subsidies on gasoline and food items, saying that they will encourage justice, growth, and improved productivity.
