The plan to cut Iran’s ties with Britain should be discussed in the Majlis, MP Kazem Jalali said on Wednesday.
"The plan should be on the agenda of the Majlis and after reviewing it, the plan should be put to a vote," Jalali told the semi-official Fars News Agency on Wednesday.
He claimed that that lawmakers were "irritated" with what he called "Britain's approach toward Iran," and the plan would thus be definitely approved.
On December 19, 2010, the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee voted to completely cut relations with London. The decision was then submitted to the Majlis presiding board.
Last year, the committee urged the Foreign Ministry to reduce the level of diplomatic relations with the UK due to what the committee called the country's "hostile" attitude toward Iran and its "interference" in Iran's internal affairs.
