For the past few days, close to 2000 workers at a tire manufacturing plant have staged a strike over unpaid wages and unmet demands of employees.
The Executive Secretary of the Labour House of Kerman province, Abbas Karbakhsh told Iran’s Labour News Agency (ILNA) that the reason for the strike at Barez tire manufacturing plant was the company’s “delay and lack of coordination in meeting the demands of workers.”
Karbakhsh said that despite the relative “success” of the Barez plant which now has around 2000 workers, “unfortunately, in recent months unwelcome news is being heard about condition of workers at this production unit.”
