The Jerusalem Post, The US on Monday denied Iranian claims that the Revolutionary Guard shot down US drone surveillance aircraft in the Persian Gulf, Reuters reported.
Pentagon officials did acknowledge that some spy planes had crashed in the region in the past due to mechanical problems.
Addressing a Sunday report quoting Revolutionary Guard Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh as saying Iran shot down two western drones in the Gulf, Pentagon spokesman Colonel Dave Lapan stated there were "no recent reports that would corroborate what the Revolutionary Guard said about unmanned aerial vehicles."
