Air pollution in Tehran has severely increased

Street Journalist, in regards to air pollution Yousef Rashidi CEO of Air Quality control says there has been an increase in the pollutant concentration particles in the air and air quality is in am “unhealthy” state at this point.

Mr. Rashidi adds, “When the air is unhealthy, the air index is between 100 and 200 which is an indicator of a warning status, the index of between 200 and 300 is an indicator of an emergency status and anything above 300 is considered critical.”

Rashidi continued: ”Application of quality indicators in the city of Tehran has been assigned to an emergency committee, but in fact the air pollution in Tehran has already reached an unhealthy state.”

Based on it’s severe consequences, air pollution in Tehran has become a critical issue over the past several months. Air pollution alone is responsible for a 5 year decrease in the average life span in citizens of tehran.
