A spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry has said that the heavy presence of American troops under various guises, such as training the Iraqi military, is unacceptable.
He said that the Americans did not take serious measures to withdraw their forces from Iraq. He added: "We believe that if the Americans and the other foreign forces returned to their countries and left things in the hands of the peoples of the region, stability and peace will return at a quicker pace."
