2007 Monday 08 JanuaryRepresentatives of Jordanian parliament call for breaking ties with Tehran’s regimesMembers of the Jordanian parliament have demanded Amman cut off diplomatic relations with Tehran’s regime. Twenty eight representatives have been announced to have called for such measure by signing a letter denouncing the continued meddling of Tehran’s regime in Iraq. One of representatives who conducted an interview with the Arab-language network Al Jazeera, said that the signatories of said letter have arrived at the conclusion that relations with the Islamic republic of Iran is not suitable for Jordan as the regime in Tehran seeks to create a sectarian war in Iraq and generally create chaos and total unrest in the area. According to the Jordanian representative, Tehran’s interest in Iraq is to simply create sectarian chaos. He added that the number of the signatories to the letter is increasing. |
