Iran Press News: The regime-run news agency ILNA reported that Parviz Davoodi, Ahmadinejad’s first deputy in a speech in the city of Ghazvin confessed to the abject poverty of the people of Iran and said 5.4 million Iranians live on 30,000 Toomans per month (one dollar a day).
Ahmadinejad’s deputy added: "The price increases in grains, potatoes and other such items is important in the country because these items are the staple for a majority of low income families."
The regime-run news agency Fars also quoted the first deputy who said that two tenths of low income families’ purchasing power is dangerously low and most of them live on bread and yoghurt.
