2007 Thursday 04 JanuaryThe Islamic regime loans one billion dollars to IraqIran Press News: According to the regime-run news agency Fars, the Islamic regime is loaning one billion dollars in the form of credit to Iraq. Davood Danesh-Jafari, the Islamic regime’s minister of finance and economy announced on Friday, December 29th that this loan is being given to Iraq with the aim of the reconstruction of the country in the fields of the two countries’ spheres of interest. He said: “The Iraqi side has has committed to the executive infrastructure projects of Iraq that is will be coordinated by the Islamic Republic, using Iranian contractors and specialists. Baqer Jabr Al-Zubaidi, the minister of finance of Iraq in a speech stated: “The agreement was completed after long negotiations between the authorities of the 2 countries and without a doubt, if it wasn’t for the support of the leaders of the 2 countries the negotiations would have never gone through. The financial experts of the Iraqi ministry of finance had foreseen the granting of this loan in the near future and we are very happy that due to the tireless efforts and cooperation of our Iranian counterparts, that it took only a few days after the presentation of the budget bill to the Iraqi parliament that we succeeded in signing the agreement with the Islamic Republic.” Al-Zubaidi announced that the areas where the credit will go will be to the construction and completion of the electricity production, the construction of roads, hospitals, schools and the construction of some other infrastructural facilities. Al-Zubaidi accompanied by a council of Iraqi authorities traveled to Iran on Monday, January 1st, 2007 and before the meeting with the Islamic republic’s minister of economy and Finance he met with the minister of foreign affairs and minister of cooperation as well as Ahmadinejad’s first deputy. |
