Female guards to check on female students’ outfits

Iran Press News: The Amir Kabir university newsletter reported that in a vicious action the Islamic guardianship of the Khajeh Nasireddin Toosi university has hired two groups of female guards and has assigned them to inspecting and issue warnings to female students about their clothing and make-up. University students association of the Khajeh Nasireddin Toosi university issued a statement protesting this action.

The statement also states: “More than 3 weeks passes from the prowling of the Islamic regimes forces around campus. Under the pretext of complaints from students sympathetic to the Basiji forces* who are also supported by the university’s Islamic guardianship, female students are being checked with the excuse of the [brightness of the] color of their clothing and the kind of trousers and regulation Islamic overcoat; this is all in order to further create an atmosphere of terror and oppression.

As the student association has repeated over and over again, the choice in clothing is a personal right and no one can impose any special kind of uniform on citizens.

The university student associations of the industrial university and the Khajeh Nasireddin Toosi university, in a first step condemn and warn against the recent oppressive clashes against protesting students and state that as long as these methods remain in place, the offenders will be faced with continued protests by students. The commanders of these actions should know that: The University Is Alive.
