2006 Tuesday 19 DecemberRegime’s authorities new and pathetic efforts to smear student protestorsIran Press News: The Amir Kabir newsletter reported: The student association of Amir Kabir University condemned the deputy speaker of Iran’s Majlis, Mohammad-Reza Bahonar’s speech in Shiraz University, where he called the objectors to Ahmadinjad’s speech as promoters of sex and alcohol. Ali Azizi, deputy secretary of the Amir Kabir University student assembly announcing the news, said: “University issues and problems caused by characteristic [lack of] performance of the minister of science is so evident and it will neither make his problems go away nor will it take the focus off of him. Mr. Bahonar instead of answering for the performance of the minister of science, tries to escape to the front by covering up these and other issues. The university protest against the government and its supporters, carries an important message and efforts to attack objectors, insulting them and attempting to turn public opinion against them simply cannot make the explicit and clear message of the university to fade away.” |
