Friday 17 November 2006“The relationship between the Islamic regime and North Korea is a strategic one”On Thursday afternoon, November 16th, Choe Thae-bok, the chairman of the democratic people’s republic of Korea People's Assembly (the Stalinist regime of North Korean) met and held talks with Gholam-Ali Hadad-Adel, the speaker of the Islamic parliament. According to the Islamic parliament’s own news media, Hadad-Adel stressed the friendly nature of relations between Tehran and Pyongyang’s regimes after the victory of the Islamic revolution and said: "Due to their resistance against the forceful U.S. policies, we have a special respect for the democratic republic of Korea.” Choe Thae-bok also emphasized the importance of relations with the Islamic republic saying: “The relationship between our country and the Islamic republic is a strategic one." In reference to the visit of the industrial centers [in Iran] he added: "During the years after the victory of the Islamic revolution, the Islamic republic has made great strides in their industrial and economic development." Choe Thae-bok announced his country’s support for the Islamic republic’s nuclear activities and stressed: "The west has no right to oppose the Islamic republic’s nuclear programs. The Islamic republic’s role in providing peace, stability and security for the entire region is very important and necessary.” |
