2006 Sunday 22 OctoberDiscovery of massive corruption and embezzlement in oil and gas projectsIran Press News: The regime-run news agency Fars reported: The deputy of the economic sector of the Islamic regime’s inspector general has discovered widespread corruption and embezzlement in several oil and gas pipeline projects. Reports from inspectors of this organization exposes the lack of supervision and confirms illegal and unjustifiable payments worth millions that were made to various contractors. This official reports that 108 counts of such corruption occurred within the last year. Twenty three counts were found in the oil inspection sector which includes contracts as well as bids on smart cards, 43 counts were confirmed in the roads and transportation ministry, 11 counts in the ministry of communications and information technology and finally, in the power sector of the Atomic Energy, 31 counts of corruption have been exposed. |
