2006 Wednesday 11 OctoberNew Zealand to deport Iranian asylum seeker back to the Islamic regimeIran Press News: The regime-run news agency ARYA reported: The government of New Zealand has decided to deport an Iranian asylum seeker who converted from Islam to Christianity, back to Iran. Hossein Yadegari who has changed his name to Thomas, escaped Iran a while back, requesting asylum from the government of New Zealand; he was however refused refugee status and has been taken into custody by their police. According to the laws of New Zealand, this refugee must obtain an Islamic republic passport and be sent him back to Iran however Yadegari has refused to sign the passport documents. Immigration officials in New Zealand have stated that as long as the Iranian asylum seeker refrains from signing said documents, he will remain in the custody of New Zealand police. |
