Student activist expelled from Amir-Kabir University

Iran Press News: According to the Amir-Kabir Polytechnic University newsletter, Mohsen Sohrabi, a Chemical Engineering undergraduate student, was expelled by the university management.

He was active in the student cultural-political guild as well as a member of the student association and during the recent association elections, he was acting supervisor.

It is worth mentioning that in the wake of student protests at the university during the spring semester, the regime’s security forces stormed his house, menacing his family members, they implicitly threatened him with expulsion from university.

Last semester in his speech at the students free tribune he criticized the university management system, specifically disparaging the deputy of student affairs of the University, Majid Ataiepour. He has now been expelled and prohibited by the disciplinary Committee on education from continuing his studies.

Sohrabi was also the editor of the cultural-political journal, DAWMOON, which was banned by the university management a few months ago. Dawmoon was a publication that took a unique and diverse approach to politics; it was banned directly after the publication of an article on women’s rights.
